What have I learned about geography so far:
Geography was first studied by the ancient Greeks and was later enhanced by the Arabs during the middle Ages. Arabs geographers like Idris traveled to places like Europe, Asia, and Mediterranean lands for the purpose of learning more about the world.
In the process of learning geography, I came to understanding that there are 5 main different branches of geography, and 2 of them are physical geography and human geography. So it’s not just land forms or mapping like I thought before.
Physical geography is about the earth’s surfaces such as landforms and water formations like rivers, oceans and mountains etc. It also could be the temperature, seasons, mapping, and navigation. But human geography is almost totally different. It has different fields, as some people might say. Fields such as social geography, economic geography and political geography all under human geography. Falling under those categories can be different cultures, religions, lifestyles, environment around us, etc. By lifestyles, I mean the way people live. For example, in some places people might have a farm so they probably grow or hunt down their own food, while others might be buying their food from a grocery store!
